The award of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) membership is the hallmark of the professionally qualified in this sector. It is increasingly being demanded by employers as a key to appointment and promotion.
Holders of the Professional Diploma with the appropriate professional experience are entitled to full Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply membership and to use the letters MCIPS after their name. To achieve this, students need to complete, either by examination or approved exemption, the Diploma, Advanced and Professional Diplomas.
What you will study
To gain full Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply membership you must complete, either by examination or approved exemption, the Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Professional Diploma.
For the Advanced Diploma you must complete the following compulsory units:
* Management in Procurement and Supply
* Managing Risks in Supply Chains
* Improving the Competitiveness of Supply Chains
You will also complete two optional units from:
* Category Management in Procurement and Supply
* Sustainability in Supply Chains
* Operations Management in Supply Chains
How you will learn
You will participate in a range of learning activities, including lectures, classroom presentation, research tasks, group work, exhibitions and guest speakers.
The course will be offered on a blending learning approach
How you will be assessed
Examinations will take place in November, March and May.
This course is particularly aimed at adult learners. To register you will need to contact the Course Leader. You will need the following minimum educational requirements:-
* Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Diploma in Procurement and Supply, plus
* Two subjects at GCE Advanced Level plus three additional GCSE subject passes at Grade C or above, or equivalent.
* Any professional qualifications deemed by the Institute to be equivalent or in advance of the above.
Students will need an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy to enable them to meet the requirements of independent study at this level.
Advanced Diploma: One afternoon and/or evening per week depending on the module studied. The course will be offered on a blended learning approach.

These fees relate to 2015/16
£440 per module. Registration and exam fees will also be payable direct to Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply - Check on their website for current fees.
THIS IS A FULL COST COURSE - YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE FULL TUITION AND CERTIFICATION FEES REGARDLESS OF YOUR INCOME OR PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
Related additional costs may include materials, equipment, visits, residentials etc which are payable by all students.
Any student entered/registered with an Awarding Body who has been given free entry and then withdraws or is withdrawn by a tutor will incur the certification fee associated with the course. Any re-sit examination will incur a cost.
INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS WISHING TO DO RESITS AT WAKEFIELD COLLEGE:-
If you are not currently enrolled on a course at Wakefield College you will need to obtain the College's approval to do the resit here. There will be an administration fee to pay, plus an additional fee to cover the cost of invigilation if you are the only student.

Progression is to the CIPS Professional Diploma in in Procurement and Supply.
Opportunities exist in a wide variety of organisations including manufacturing, retail, wholesale and service industries, and public bodies such as the NHS, Civil Service and Local Authorities.
