Programme Design and Overview Our degree allows you to shape your studies towards your career ambitions and build the knowledge, skills and experience to be a successful business manager in a wide range of industries. This course prepares you for the working world by covering a range of topics that are common to business. The course allows students who currently hold a foundation degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) to complete further study to top-up their qualifications and obtain a full honours degree. The course is mainly assignment-based and covers a variety of topics commonly encountered by the business professional. Small class sizes and a high level of tutor support help ease you through this degree course. Students perform brilliantly on the course with 100% graduating to date. Our students have said they have enjoyed their time at the College thoroughly and would recommend the College to anyone looking at progressing with their education. If you have completed a relevant foundation degree or HND there is an option to enter the third year top-up route to gain a BA hons.

Delivery Methods This is a taught course where you'll participate in a range of learning activities including lectures, classroom presentations, research tasks, group work, exhibitions, workshops, tutorials and self-directed activities. Through these sessions, you'll develop the knowledge and skills to support your assignment work. You will normally have about 10 hours of taught classes per week and will be expected to complete another 10 hours per week self-directed study.
Nature of Assessments on the Programme Assessment is through written assignments and essays. These assignments will take various forms suitable to a business environment and may be linked to the workplace. Your major research project will involve undertaking a dissertation into a business topic of your own choosing.
Entry Requirements Full time Level 3 qualification in a business-related area, with a good profile of attainment and reference. OR Those with previousexperience or learning that is relevant may be eligible via our APL process for accreditation towards this course. All applicants must complete a satisfactory interview and must have satisfactory levels of English and Maths, and must be aspiring to working in a business environment, and maybe required to produce a written piece of work to support their application. Part time You must be working in a business environment and should have successfully completed a level 3 qualification in a Business related area, with a good profile of attainment and reference. You may be required to produce a written piece of work to support your entry onto the course. Students will need an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy to enable them to meet the requirements of independent study at this level. In the absence of formal qualifications students must be able to demonstrate appropriate levels of numeracy and literacy through our screening process. Students without formal qualifications will be able to complete an APL application where they have relevant experience.
Attendance Expectations Full time: 3 year, 2 days per week Part time: 4 years 6 months, 2 evenings per week Excellent attendance is important to achieve and progress well on this course. All sessions must be attended unless previously agreed with the programme leader.

Fees relating to academic year 18/19 will be confirmed around the end of April.

Part-time Fee :£4400.00 per year

Additional Course Costs Additional costs might include travel to and from business events and other visits linked to course modules. Examples include visits to JRI in Sheffield and Leeds Trinity University. Travel costs vary but are normally around £5-£10 per visit. The following costs should be used as a guide only. Arrangements apply to 2016 entry. Printing and photocopying costs: There is no charge for course hand-outs, handbooks etc. Students will receive a printing credit of £10 per annum from the University Centre, after which students will have to pay for extra credits. Library overdue charges: Overdue charges apply to all library loans to encourage you to return any resources you borrow on time. Overdue charges are 5p per day per book. There is no charge for e-books rentals. Graduation Ceremony: When you graduate, we will invite you to your graduation ceremony. It is free for you to attend, however, to take part you will need to pay to hire an academic robe to wear during the ceremony. Admissions Process

External candidates should apply through UCAS and will be interviewed and following the interview may be offered either a conditional or unconditional offer depending on their existing qualifications. Interviews normally take place between January and May, but can take place earlier or later if required.
