This apprenticeship standard will develop the knowledge, skills and
behaviours required to be a qualified site carpenter, whilst developing
behaviours required by a site carpenter.
There is a mandatory competence qualification to be achieved this is the NVQ
Level 2 Diploma in wood Occupations -Site Carpentry
Whilst there is no mandatory on-programme assessment for knowledge in
relation to the Site Carpentry standard, this programme will follow the
recommended training specification of the City and Guilds Level 2 qualification.
This will enable you to develop knowledge and skills that will include
- Health and safety
- Technical principles of site carpentry
- Communication
- Installation, repair or replace frames, doors, windows
- Repair or replace roofing components
In addition, where a level 2 qualification in English and Maths is not held
on entry, you will be required to study and complete the assessment for level 2
English and level 2 Maths assessments (this could be GCSE, Functional Skills or
other).
