Course Overview

This course consists of modules which are ideal for those who:

  • Seek to further develop a career in HR management and development
  • Are working in the field of HR management and development and need to extend their knowledge and skills
  • Have responsibility for implementing HR policies and strategies
  • Need to understand the role of HR in the wider organisational and environmental context

The course provides a series of development modules that address knowledge and skills. Teaching is interactive and mostly online via Microsoft Teams, where group work and class discussion feature prominently.

The CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management covers the following topics:

  • Reward for performance and contribution
  • Learning and Development Essentials
How you will be Assessed The course is continuously assessed and there is no final examination. Successful completion of all assignment and class-based work will result in achieving the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management.
Entry Requirements

The course is aimed at adult learners, who are likely to hold the Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice, or equivalent (although this is not a requirement) and be an HR practitioner. You must also have GCSE Grade 9 - 4 in English and Maths. 

Applicants without prior HR qualifications but with significant experience of a HR environment will also be suitable for this level of study. Some units may require access to workplace data (e.g in Using Information in Human Resources).

Similarly, line managers with significant responsibility for the implementation of HR policies and practices will be welcome.

Attendance Expectations You will be required to attend weekly online teaching sessions via Microsoft Teams – Thursdays 1:15pm-6:45pm. Tutorials are offered as individual appointments.

Additional Fees

All students are required to register with CIPD upon enrolment. The fee for this is payable directly to the CIPD and includes admission and annual membership.

 

Further Study Progression is available for students wishing to study HR level 7 qualifications available at other academic institutions. Further details are available from the Course Leader.
