This Health and Social Care study programmes provide the knowledge needed
when working in a health and social care environments, caring for young people,
adults, and the elderly.
The programme covers a wide range of areas including; supporting individuals
with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care
procedures.
Level 1 learners will visit care settings with their tutor or have guest
speakers within the College, to gain an understanding of the skills and
professional behaviours required when working in the care industry.
The average salary you could expect to earn working in the Health and Social
Care sector is from the minimum wage for a care assistant up to £30,000 for a
setting manager.
Please Note: Work placement opportunities will be available at all
levels.
Your learning will take place through a wide range of activities including
written assignments (including leaflet and poster making), practical activities,
discussions, visiting speakers, tutor presentations, group work, workshops,
creating materials and resources, and practical experience in both the classroom
and if appropriate within a Health & Social Care setting.
