The UK is the seventh biggest tourism market in the world, worth over £70 billion to the country each year.  More than two million people are employed in Travel and Tourism in the UK, so there are lots of opportunities for you to find a rewarding career in the industry either in this country or abroad.

Studying a Travel and Tourism course will help you gain the knowledge and qualifications you need to start work in this exciting industry. Each year we have a selection of day trips and yearly residential for learners to experience industry insight.

Your course will be an interesting mix of classes, lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations and independent student research. Some of them will be in our specially built aircraft cabin room where you can develop the knowledge and skills to work as Cabin Crew. Teaching will include use of digital facilities where you will research and study the latest travel and tourism news and information, and some will be in classrooms where you will prepare for work in the industry. You will develop skills using the latest travel industry directories and manuals. College links with companies such as Fly Me, Jet 2 Holidays, Travel Counsellors and Tourism Department will provide opportunities for students to learn from real-life experience.

A range of visits and residential are also planned throughout the academic year. Examples of day visits include visits to Chatsworth House, The Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and London.
