This unit is designed for those people who have completed the Level 2 certificate course. They will specialise in Mechanical skills, looking at all aspects of the car. They will require the knowledge gained from completing Level 1 and Level 2 certificate and to then be able to apply this knowledge to help understand all the units involved. They will learn how to fault find and diagnose simple faults.

A mixture of workshop and theory sessions as well as working towards achieving Maths and English if they haven’t achieved a Grade 4 in the subjects.

Units include:

• Health and Safety
• Fabrication
• Chassis Components
• Inspections
• Electrics

You will be assessed through practical tasks in the workshops and completion of portfolio work and end of unit online exams.

GCSEs at Grade 9-4 in English and Maths.

AND

A Level 1 Certificate qualification.

On successful completion and with the required English and Maths grades you can progress through the levels.
