Course Completion and Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Level 2
Certificate in Introduction to Air Cabin Crew and a Level 2 Certificate in
Travel and Tourism.
The UK is the seventh-largest tourism market globally, contributing over £70
billion to the economy each year. With more than two million people employed in
the Travel and Tourism sector, there are numerous opportunities for you to
pursue a rewarding career, both within the UK and internationally.
Studying Travel and Tourism at Wakefield College will provide you with the
knowledge and qualifications needed to start your career in this exciting
industry. Each year, we organize a variety of day trips and an annual
residential trip to give learners valuable industry insights.
Your course will feature a dynamic mix of classes, lectures, seminars,
workshops, presentations, and independent research. Some lessons will take place
in our purpose-built aircraft cabin room, where you can develop the skills and
knowledge needed to work as Cabin Crew. You’ll also have access to digital
resources to research and stay up-to-date with the latest travel and tourism
news. Some sessions will take place in classrooms, where you'll prepare for a
career in the industry, and you’ll gain hands-on experience using the latest
travel industry directories and manuals. Our strong connections with companies
such as Fly Me, Jet2 Holidays, Travel Counsellors, and the Wakefield Tourism
Department offer students the opportunity to learn from real-life
experiences.
Throughout the academic year, we plan a range of visits and residential
trips. Past day trips have included visits to Chatsworth House, The Yorkshire
Wildlife Park, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and London. Overnight residential trips
have included destinations such as New York, Amsterdam, and Disneyland Paris
(subject to availability).
Please note: Work placement opportunities will be available as part of the
course.
