Course Overview Gain a recognised professional qualification that will enable you to obtain insurance to work as a massage therapist. On this course you will study anatomy and physiology and work on paying clients in a realistic working environment to gain practical experience of the application of Body Massage techniques.

  • Business Practice for Complimentary Therapies
  • Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology and Pathology for Complimentary Therapies

How you will Learn The course is divided into formal lectures, case studies and practical work.
How you will be Assessed The theory is assessed through assignments and external tests. Your practical work on clients will be continuously assessed and then evidenced within a portfolio.
Entry Requirements GCSE grade 9-4 or A*- C in English plus successful interview, demonstrate your determination to succeed.
Attendance Expectations One evening per week, Tuesday (6 pm – 9 pm) for one year. You will be expected to attend all sessions in order to complete the work required.
Fee Information

The fees for courses starting in academic year 2020/21 will be available from May 2020.

These fees relate to 2019/20

Course costs for students aged 19 or over - £4670.00

If you are aged between 19 to 23 and you have not already achieved a full level 3 (or above) qualification, then your course may be free.

If you are aged over 19 and have achieved a full level 3 qualification or are aged over 24 you are probably eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan from the government to cover your tuition fees.

Further Study You may wish to broaden your experience further by progressing onto Level 3 Reflexology or other holistic programmes
Career Opportunities Successful completion of this course will enable you to gain insurance to work as a massage therapist. Opportunities exist for employment in salons, health farms, hospitals, hospices or as a freelance practitioner.
