Course Overview This course is ideal if you want to develop an understanding of children and young people’s mental health. You will find the content useful if you work in healthcare, social care, the leisure industry, entertainment, education and training or nursing. It will allow you to work in your own time using a dedicated website with all course materials and assessments completed at your pace. It is expected this will take 6 weeks to complete and you will have an opportunity to attend a face to face session with an experienced tutor as part of the programme.
What you will Study

You will develop knowledge of:

• Children and young people’s mental health in context
• Mental health problems commonly associated with children and young people
• The impact of mental ill-health on children and young people
• Support available to maintain mental wellbeing in children and young people

How you will Learn Your course is delivered via an online portal with reading material, videos and tasks to complete. You will also have opportunity to attend a 2 hour face to face session with a dedicated tutor to explore the content of the course, this is an optional aspect of the course.
How you will be Assessed Completion of written tasks to achieve all learning outcomes. Work must be submitted online.

• An interest to gain the above qualification
• Ability to complete an online qualification

You will also need to be able to access the internet and have use of a device (PC/laptop/tablet)

Attendance Expectations The course is completed online via a dedicated website for self-study. An optional 2 hour training workshop with your dedicated tutor.
