Course Overview

This is a flexible, informal, workshop-style course, which is offered in a dedicated IT room with up-to-date software.

This course aims to enhance your knowledge and competence in using Microsoft Office applications. This course is ideal for those who work with IT within their current job role and for those who are looking to further develop their existing skills in IT, using word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software.

To complete this Level 2 course, you will need a basic level of knowledge and experience in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

If you don’t want to study the full course, individual units can be studied.

What you will Study

Improving Productivity Using ICT (Mandatory Unit) - learn to plan and review the use of appropriate IT systems and software

Word Processing Software - covers creating, editing, and formatting text files according to a house style, importing data from other applications and using numeric and tabular data, images and graphs

Spreadsheet Software - develop skills in using complex formulae and functions to analyse and interpret data using a variety of charts and graphs

Database Software - learn to modify simple, non-relational databases, create queries using multiple selection criteria and create reports

Presentation Software - gain greater familiarity with presentation software including the use of complex presentations and slide show techniques.

How you will be Assessed
