Programme Design and Overview This work-based course is designed for practising middle managers, with responsibility for operations, resources, implementation of change, managing people, budgets and information, to develop their management skills and knowledge.
Indicative Content Learners study four mandatory units which cover contributing to a strategic plan, designing a business process, managing strategic change, and leadership. Students then choose from a diverse range of optional units to complete the qualification, tailoring their learning to meet their individual and organisational needs.
Delivery Methods This qualification combines collation of practical work-based evidence with knowledge units. Your assessor will meet you in the workplace at mutually convenient times and dates. All learning will be conducted on a one-to-one basis.
Nature of Assessments on the Programme

Competency units will be assessed via the collation of a portfolio of evidence to meet assessment criteria. Evidence could include reflective accounts, professional discussions, witness testimonies, photographs, and work product evidence such as minutes, reports, emails, and procedures.

Knowledge units are assessed via written assignments and professional discussion.


Entry Requirements

English and Maths at Level 2 (Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE Grade C or above / 4 or above).

Where the applicant does not meet the course entry requirements - Level 2 or GCSE qualification at grade C/4 or above in maths and/or English, entry will be considered on previous management and leadership qualifications.

You must be employed in a managerial role at the appropriate level to enable you to provide evidence of competency in the units identified above. 


Attendance Expectations You will need to meet with your assessor approximately every 4-6 weeks. Meetings in the workplace are arranged at mutually convenient times and dates.
Fee Information

These fees relate to 2023/2024

£3,120.00

 

Additional costs will be incurred where students exceed the 18 months duration.

 

If you are aged between 19 to 23 and you have not already achieved a full level 3 (or above) qualification, funding may be able available towards the cost of the course.

If you are aged over 19 and have achieved a full level 3 qualification or are aged over 24 you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan from the government to cover your tuition fees.

Additional Course Costs

Students are expected to provide their own lever arch files, dividers and stationery.

The following costs should be used as a guide only.

Printing and photocopying costs: There is no charge for course hand-outs, handbooks etc. Students will receive a printing credit of £10 per annum from the University Centre, after which students will have to pay for extra credits.

Library overdue charges: Overdue charges apply to all library loans to encourage you to return any resources you borrow on time. Overdue charges are 5p per day per book. There is no charge for e-books rentals.
