Programme Design and Overview

Digital Skills are more important than ever and understanding digital technology and communication is vital to stay connected in work and life.

It is estimated that 11.3 million people in the UK lack basic digital skills and 8% of adults in the UK have no basic digital skills at all.

The Essential Digital Skills course is designed to help you develop the basic digital skills you need for life and work. The course covers a wide range of topics, including:

• Using devices and handling information
• Creating and editing
• Communicating
• Transacting
• Being safe and responsible online

What you will Study

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Use computers and other digital devices effectively
• Find, manage, and use information effectively
• Create and edit documents, presentations, and other digital content
• Communicate effectively using email, social media, and other online tools
• Make online purchases and complete other transactions
• Stay safe and responsible online

Nature of Assessments on the Programme You will be assessed through an externally set online assessment.
Entry Requirements There are no specific entry requirements. All applicants will be expected to complete an initial assessment diagnostic.
Attendance Expectations One 2.5-hour session per week for 12 weeks.
Fee Information

This course may be FREE to you subject to eligibility criteria. Funding is available for those claiming benefits or on a low wage. (Eligibility criteria applies.) If you are not entitled to any funding the course fee is £300.

Further Study Following this course you will be able to progress on to our L1 Essential Digital Skills or apply for our Level 1 Cybersecurity or Level 2 Digital and IT Skills qualifications.
