Course Overview

This course will give you an introduction to the underlying principles associated with the prevention and control of infection as well as decontamination, cleaning and waste management within a healthcare setting. You will also be introduced to the principles which underpin the importance of personal hygiene and health in the prevention and control of infections.

Completion within 10 weeks, although early completion is achievable

Principles of the causes and spread of infection in healthcare settings
Principles of the importance of personal hygiene and health in the prevention and control of infection in healthcare settings
Principles of decontamination, cleaning and waste management in healthcare settings
Principles of infection prevention and control in a healthcare setting

How you will be Assessed The course is delivered via distance learning, supported by a range of interactive online resources. Work is is assessed by the tutor throughout the programme from induction to completion.
Entry Requirements No specific entry requirements, however good written English is desirable.
