The course is mainly assignment-based and has been designed in consultation
with employers to ensure that you will develop necessary knowledge and skills to
be successful in industry. There is also an opportunity throughout this course
for students to participate in work placements with local employers within the
computing industry to gain valuable experience before they enter to industry
themselves on a full-time basis.
Computer Science plays a vital role in the technological developments that
have become part of everyday life. In this honours degree we will provide you
with programming and problem-solving skills required in the Computing
sector whilst covering a range of cutting-edge topics such as Artificial
Intelligence, Machine Learning and Big Data.
This is a taught course where you'll participate in a range of learning
activities including lectures, classroom presentations, research tasks, group
work, practical workshops, tutorials, and self-directed activities. Through
these sessions, you'll develop the knowledge and skills to support your
assignment work. You will normally have about 10 hours of taught classes per
week and will be expected to complete another 10 hours per week self-directed
study.
